“Big Top” by Nancy J. McLaughlin

Walky walk,
Awaydy walk.
Or roll, legless roll,
egg roll.

Oh how I loved you once,
Poundy pound,
Ouncy ounce.
My breaky heart aches
as you pouncey pounce.

Wave crashing on shore-
I loved you once,
but love the trees more.

Hard it is to see you go,
skate boardy eight year oldy bro.
But it’s too late,
just wanna walky-talky say-
I did love you so,
as you summersault
awaydy way away.

I love both reading and writing poems, as they are capable of transporting us with just a few words. I also tell my stories with paint on canvas.
