Prescott Breakup

a poem of love lost

“Disappearing Sun” painting by the author

My man stood at the door
tall and beautiful
I knew his little stoop
just enough to say this was a mistake.

I think back to better days
dancing and loving more
than should be allowed.

Then enter crazy and let me tell you I’ve seen it,
so many,
you’re an angel in heaven if you haven’t

Oh the love the love
until the no sets in
No thank you.

My heart is bursting as I drive down the dusty pine road
where first was gold
then a gun
now leaves and dust.

I love both reading and writing poems, as they are capable of transporting us with just a few words. I also tell my stories with paint on canvas.
